Answer Style
|
|
The Answer Style drop-down lets you choose what kind of answer your question requires.
|
Multiple Choice
|
permits respondents to pick only one of the answers you specify under Answer Text.
|
Select All That Apply
|
permits respondents to choose one or more of the answers you specify under Answer Text.
|
Single Answer Drop Down
|
permits respondents to choose one answer from drop down combo box you specify under Answer Text.
|
Ration Choice or Scale
|
permits respondents to rate a question on a scale by selecting one of the options you specify under Answer Text.
|
Short Free-Form Text
|
will display a single-line text entry field for each entry you make under Answer Text.
|
Long Free-Form Text
|
will display a multiple-line text entry field for each entry you make under Answer Text.

Answer Text

The Answer Text fields work one of two ways:
|
If Answer Style is
Multiple Choice
Select All That Apply
Single Answer Drop Down
Rating Choice or Scale
|
Use the Answer Text fields to list the options that you want your respondent to choose from.
|
If Answer Style is
Short Free-Form Text
Long Free-Form Text
|
The Answer Text fields act as labels for a series of input boxes. For example, to collect a user's address information you might choose to use a Short Free-Form Text Answer Style and set the Answer Text boxes to "Street Address", "City", "State", and "Zip".
|
Once you save your question, you have the option of using the Order text boxes to re-order your Answer Text fields. You may also use the Delete check boxes to delete one or more Answer Text fields. (Save the question again after reordering/marking for deletion.)

Order
|
Changing the numbers in the Order checkboxes will re-sequence the answer lines. Click Save for the changes to take effect. (Filling in the Order fields is not required.)

Delete
|
If you mark a Delete check box next to a particular answer, that answer will be deleted when you click Save.
|

Choices
|
If you change the value in the Need More Choices dropdown field, the next time you save the question, the number of answer line fields will be adjusted.

Answer Required
|
If you mark the Answer Required check box, respondents will not be permitted to submit a survey until they provide an answer for the question.

Treat Last Option as Other
|
Marking this checkbox will permit your respondents to type their own answer for questions with an Answer Style of Select All That Apply or Multiple Choice.

Thirty Second Tutorial: Question Builder
|
You are now in the Question Builder. Type the question you wish to ask in the Question Text field. Next, select an Answer Style, then enter the choices or field labels for the responses in the Answer Text fields.
|
Then, click Next Question to add another question to your survey.
|
Or - click Survey Features to touch up the format of your survey.
|
Or - click Preview to see how your survey will look.
|
Or – click One-Click Publish to put your survey on the web immediately.
